In preparation for the "Gitapath of one lakh people" event scheduled for December 24 in Kolkata, a significant ritual took place on Saturday. Soil from Kurukshetra, Haryana, was ceremoniously mixed at the Ganga Ghat. Subsequently, a procession led by sadhus and saints, carrying Ganga water and soil, traversed from Babughat to Brigade, marking the initiation of the pre-event activities.

On Gita Jayanti, December 24, various organizations have planned a program for collective Gita recitation at Brigade, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to be present as the chief guest. The event anticipates the participation of two Shankaracharyas and has garnered written consent from 3,600 Hindu organizations.
